2013 – Some New, Some Old

Time really flies by; it seems like yesterday when I was contemplating on starting a blog to pen down my experiments in the kitchen and write about my new found love for running.

It’s been 9 months since my first post; with each new write –up I have learned something new, come across some incredibly talented people in the blog world.

During my journey during these last months I have come to realize that the blog has been more about food, rather a lot about food and very little about running. When in reality I spend equal time doing both! I often wondered why there was a block writing about running and not about food.

So this year I plan to bring in a few changes ….

  • 21 Days of Healthy Eating -  New Year with New Beginnings – from 1st to 21st of January 2013, I am going to follow a soup, salad / steamed vegetable diet, with no refined sugar. I have loaded the house with vegetables and fruits. Currently very positive about  completing this challenge successfully! Keep reading to find out how it’s been going in the future posts.

  • Improve My Food Photography:  Its a world of very talented and creative people out there who take the job of making food 'look good' very seriously. Going forward I want to take more efforts to learn this art. I think I have a basic flair towards creativity, but have to do a lot of work on my photography skills.. lets see how that works out! P.S - I am not going to invest in a new camera, will work with my current point & shoot.

  • Blog about Running - Have to make a sincere effort to blog about my training routine at least once a week. Every time I start out, I cannot get beyond 2 lines, my try is going to be converting 2 lines  into 20 lines at least.

  • Half Marathon and some more running - Without an aim running gets very monotonous; my aim for this year is to finish another half marathon. And complete 10k in 1 hr 10 minutes – my current time is 1 hr 24 minutes.
  • Eating Consciously -   I love food be it vegetarian, non- vegetarian, healthy, fried, deep fried, vegan, junk I enjoy it all. But I am also aware of its side effects so this year I want to me more conscious of what am going to eat. Enjoy everything in moderation and keep running to work it out.
  • Live Life KingsizeI don’t have other resolutions / plans for the coming year, like 2012 I want to make the most of each day and live life to the fullest! Cook, serve and eat good food, spend time with family n friends. Keep in touch with my loved ones more in person or phone calls in case of long distance rather than Facebook, Sms or Whats app and make a few new friends.

That’s all from me.. Cheers!

  3. I would love to hear more about your running, and I agree, it is hard to blog about it. I started to, but haven't written a post on running for weks now. I joined "The Running Bug", a great website for runners, and I tend to share about my training on there nowadays ore than my blog. I fiod it hard to write personal stuff on the blog; so when I have written about running I do share a little about how it's going for me, then I find a running =related topic to share facts about, like running in bad weather, choosing the right shoes, etc. Perhaps you'd also like to share some of the tips you've learned? All the bes with your training for 2013,and wish me luck as I've conquered 5k now going for 10k.Sarojini :)
